What is Padre Terminal? (The Simple Explanation)

What is Padre Terminal?

Imagine you want to buy stocks. You go to a platform, look at charts, place a buy order, and that’s it. Simple.

Padre Terminal does exactly the same thing but for crypto tokens, specifically the fast, memecoins that circulate on blockchains like Solana. (There are other Trading bots that I will do a detailed article about the 10 best trading bots on Solana)

Technically speaking: Padre (now officially called Terminal) is a multi-chain web trading terminal designed for fast token discovery, chart monitoring, and manual on-chain trading.

But what does this mean in practice?

It means you don’t need to open 5 different tabs one to see prices, one to check the chart, one to swap, one to manage your wallet. Padre does all of this from one place.

The big difference from Telegram bots: unlike Telegram trading bots, Padre runs entirely in the browser and provides a dedicated trading interface where traders can monitor tokens, manage positions, and execute trades across multiple networks.

The Story Behind the Padre

This is where things get a little complicated, but it’s important to know.

Padre started out as an independent platform (padre.gg). It was popular, fast, and had built a good reputation in the space. Then, in October 2025, something big happened:

Pump.fun acquired Padre, an advanced multichain trading terminal, with the goal of expanding its professional retail user base.

Acquiring Padre made sense: they wanted to control the entire trading stack, from token creation to trade execution.

According to Dune Analytics, Padre controls about 10% of the trading bot market on Solana, and is the second-largest trading bot after Axiom, which controls 56%.

While this is small compared to market leader Axiom, Padre has built a reputation for reliable performance and a user-friendly design.

Today, in 2026, Padre is up and running under new ownership. The official address remains padre.gg and the app is located at trade.padre.gg.

Padre Terminal Setup Guide Step By Step

how to use the Padre terminal let’s go in a few steps.

First you will have to register on the Parde.gg website here to get the 35% cashback.

Then you will choose the method you want to register such as: Telegram, Metamask, Phatom, Google.

Once the account opening is complete, you will need to make a deposit to the Address that Parde will send you, but if you don’t want to make a deposit right away, you will go..

To make a deposit, go to the Portfolio category and click on the Wallets / Starting Solana Wallet category and you will see a button that says Deposit.

There you will see the Deposit Address and the QR code to make a deposit.

Be careful if you do it for the first time, send the least amount of money for example $10, to see that you did the process correctly.

Because if you make a mistake your money will be lost.

How to Make Your First Purchase at Padre Terminal

Let’s say you found a token you’re interested in and want to buy. What do you do?
Find Token
You can search for tokens in two ways:

  • Name Search Type the name or ticker in the search bar
  • Contract Address Paste the token’s contract address

Warning: Always verify the contract address from official sources (the project’s Twitter/X, CoinGecko, etc.) There are thousands of fake tokens with similar names.

Slippage Settings

Before you buy, you need to understand what slippage is.
Imagine you want to buy a token at €1.00. By the time the transaction is completed (which takes a few milliseconds), the price may have changed to €1.05. Slippage is the “tolerance” in the price difference that you accept.

If you set slippage to 1%, it means “buy up to 1% more expensive than the price I see”. If the price goes up more than 1%, the trade fails.
The recommendation for beginners is to start with low to medium slippage depending on the liquidity of the token.

For hot memecoins that move quickly, some traders use 5-15% slippage. For more stable tokens, 1-3% is enough. If your trades keep failing, increase the slippage a little.

Then you will find the token you want, go to the Buy category, enter the Solana coins you want and press the Buy button.

Order Types

Padre supports different types of orders:

Market Order

You buy NOW, at the price the token is currently at. Quick and easy, but you may get a slightly different price due to slippage.

Limit Order

You tell Padre: “Buy this token, but only if the price drops to X.” If it doesn’t get there, the order is not executed.

Costs and Fees:

This is something that many beginners overlook and then get surprised. Let’s look at it all:

Padre’s business model is simple: it takes a small in-app trading fee when you trade through the terminal. A portion of this revenue is used for cashback, referral rewards, and revenue sharing.

The three types of costs you need to know:

Platform fee: Padre’s fee for using the platform (check current rates on the platform)

Blockchain gas fees: you pay the network (e.g. Solana), NOT Padre. On Solana these are minimal (< $0.01 usually)

Slippage: it’s not strictly a fee, but it is a cost. If you buy 1% more expensive due to slippage, it “costs” 1%.

The Cashback System

The default cashback is 10% on trading fees. Users who sign up via a referral link can receive up to 35% cashback depending on their referral tier.

Example: If you trade $10,000 and the platform fee is 0.1%, you pay $10. With 35% cashback, you get back $3.50.

A small amount individually, but it adds up if you make many trades.

Copy Trading Parde.gg

The automated copy trading feature allows users to copy the moves of top traders with minimal manual intervention.

This is ideal for beginners: you find a trader with a good track record, follow him, and Padre automatically copies his buys/sells to your own wallet.

It’s just not as easy as it sounds, you need a lot of setup and a lot of research to find a good trader.

That’s why most PNL that are profitable are fake, they just make small trades and come out with a profit almost every time.

Wallet Tracking

You can “track” any public wallet without having access to it.

If a known whale (large investor) buys something, you will see it in almost real-time.

This is the best tool if you want to see what those who are profitable and know what they are doing are buying.

Security in Padre Terminal

Private keys are encrypted locally. The Terminal team does not have access to users’ funds. Knowing the password alone is not enough to access the wallet without a fully authenticated session.

This means that even if a hacker compromises Padre’s servers, they cannot steal your crypto; they only see encrypted data that is useless without your password.

In contrast, if a Telegram bot is compromised, your wallet is emptied immediately.

Padre Terminal vs Axiom

You’ve probably heard other names: Axiom, BullX Neo, Photon, Banana Gun.

What’s the difference?

Terminal feels like a refined mix between Axiom and Photon, but lighter, faster and much more customizable.

To be honest, both Axiom and Padre have a similar design.

It’s more about what’s comfortable for you, and they’re both excellent trading bots.

Common Mistakes Beginners Make

Memecoin trading is extremely risky. Tokens can lose 90% of their value in a matter of hours. Start with what you can afford to lose completely.
A good rule of thumb: for the first 3 months, never put more than 5-10% of your crypto portfolio into memecoin trading.

Also, blindly following influencers is a surefire way to buy high and sell low.
Many “crypto influencers” first buy a token, then promote it to their followers, and sell when the price goes up. You buy at the top and lose.
