To be honest, in recent months there has been a lot of confusion about which exchanges will be allowed and which will not.
But to be here, you probably have questions and want answers about the new European platform Bybit EU.
Let’s take it step by step ( how to use Bybit EU ).
If you haven’t opened your Bybit EU account yet, you can do so here.
What is Bybit EU and why should you care?
Imagine you want to buy Bitcoin, Ethereum or any other cryptos. To do so, you need an “exchange”, a digital meeting place for buyers and sellers. That’s exactly what Bybit EU is: the second largest crypto exchange in the world by trading volume, with a special edition exclusively for European users.
The key word here is “EU.” As of July 2025, Bybit EU has been fully licensed under the European Union’s MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets) regulation, the strictest and most comprehensive regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies in Europe today.
This means that the platform is licensed by the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) and is legal in all 29 countries of the European Economic Area.
If you were registered on the old bybit.com, you should know that for European users the transition to bybit.eu is mandatory, the old bybit.com is gradually being deactivated for EU residents.
It is not an option, it is a necessity.

Identity Verification (and Why It’s Mandatory)
This is where many beginners stop. They see the ID and selfie request and think: “But why?” Understandable. But KYC (Know Your Customer) is not an invention of Bybit, it is a legal requirement under the MiCA regulation and European anti-money laundering legislation.
Bybit EU has three verification levels, each with different requirements and different benefits. For most beginners, the Standard level is enough to get started.

What’s Inside Bybit EU – Exploring the Platform
Bybit EU is not just for “buying Bitcoin”. It has several tools worth knowing:
Spot Trading – The classic buying and selling of cryptocurrencies at the current price. You buy one currency for another. This is where most beginners start.
Earn (Returns) – If you don’t want to trade but want to “work” your crypto, Bybit EU offers staking and liquidity programs. Simplified version: you park your cryptocurrencies and earn interest.
Testnet – This is a training environment with virtual money. You can practice trading without risking a single real euro. Ideal for complete beginners who want to “get a feel” for the platform.
Bybit EU Card – The Card That Turns Crypto Into Everyday Spending
Here comes the most interesting part for many.
In September 2025, Bybit EU officially launched the Bybit Card across the European Economic Area, a Mastercard debit card that is linked directly to your Bybit EU account. With it, you can pay at any store that accepts Mastercard (i.e. almost everywhere), either online or in person, using your cryptocurrencies.
Think of it like a bank card, but instead of euros from your checking account, it is powered by Bitcoin, USDC, or other cryptos that are automatically converted to euros at the time of payment.

- Cashback without a cap – Starting in June 2026, Bybit Card offers 1% cashback on all eligible purchases, with no monthly cap on earnings. VIP users earn from 2% to 10%, depending on their level.
- No annual fee -The digital card is completely free. The physical card (sent to you by mail) has a shipping fee of 5 euros, one-time.
- 100% cashback subscriptions -One of the most popular features: in the first month of use, you earn 100% cashback on selected subscriptions like Netflix, Spotify, and ChatGPT (up to 50 euros in total). Essentially, these services are free for a month.
- Apple Pay & Google Pay – Immediately after the digital card is issued, you can add it to your mobile wallet and pay contactlessly. You don’t need to wait for the physical card.
- Welcome Package – For new users, Bybit EU offers a welcome package of up to €120 in cashback bonuses in the first month.
- Complete security – You can freeze or unfreeze your card through the app in just a few taps, and the platform monitors your account 24/7 for suspicious activity.

Bybit Global VS Bybit EU? What is the difference?
If you are new to the world of cryptocurrency, it is natural to wonder why the Bybit Global and Bybit EU versions exist. Although they belong to the same ecosystem, they do not offer exactly the same services.

Bybit EU is designed for users in the European Union and operates under the European regulatory framework. This means that there may be differences in the available products, platform features, identification (KYC) requirements and how to access certain services.
On the other hand, Bybit Global is aimed at users from many countries outside of this specific European licensing and may offer different features or more options, depending on the user’s country
Bybit EU and Future Trading: Will it be available in the future?
Many users who are transferring from Bybit Global to Bybit EU are wondering if they will be able to do Futures Trading or trade Perpetual Contracts. The answer is that, at the moment, these services are not available through Bybit EU.
The reason is that Bybit EU operates under the European regulatory framework and can only offer the services covered by its license. In order to offer products such as Crypto Futures or Perpetual Contracts, it will need to have the relevant regulatory approval from the relevant supervisory authorities.
To date, Bybit has not officially announced that Bybit EU will offer Future Trading or Perpetual Trading. However, as the European framework for cryptocurrencies evolves, it is possible that new services will be added in the future, provided that the company receives the necessary approvals.
However, from what you hear, when it is licensed, it will have leverage of up to 10x
If you haven’t opened your Bybit EU account yet, you can do so here.
Security at Bybit EU – The Most Important Feature
Bybit EU stores the vast majority of its digital assets in cold wallets (offline storage, with multiple signatures), which drastically reduces the risk of hackers. User funds are kept strictly separate from the company’s funds, an obligation imposed by MiCA.
But half the responsibility for security is yours. Here’s what to do:
Never share your password or 2FA codes with anyone. Even with Bybit “support“, real representatives will never ask you for this information. Enable the withdrawal whitelist, this means that you can only send crypto to addresses that you have approved in advance.
Even if someone gets into your account, they can’t send the money anywhere else. Use a unique password exclusively for Bybit, don’t reuse passwords from other sites.
