How to use AsterDex for leveraged crypto trading

Imagine waking up one morning, opening your phone, and seeing that Bitcoin had gained +8% overnight. Now imagine that you had opened a position with 1001x leverage.

The math is impressive, but the risk is equally enormous. This is the world of Aster DEX, one of the most talked about decentralized exchanges of 2026.

If you’ve heard of Aster DEX and are wondering “what the heck is this and how does it work?”, you’ve come to the right place. In this guide, I’ll take you from scratch, from “I don’t even know what a DEX is” to being able to make your first trade on the platform with confidence. Read it carefully.

Before we start, if you want to trade exclusively with 1001x leverage, you will need to download metamask and select the BNB Chain network.

If you want to simply do Perpetual up to 100x, you can do it with Phantom wallet and Solana network

From here you can register on Aster Dex for leverage up to 1001x

It’s worth it.

What is Aster DEX and Why is Everyone Talking About It?

What is Aster DEX

To understand Aster DEX, you first need to understand the difference between a regular exchange (CEX) and a decentralized exchange (DEX).

On OKX or Bybit, a middleman (the company) holds your money. It’s like putting it in a bank, you have a login, password, and if something goes wrong, there’s someone to call for help. On Aster DEX, all of that changes. Your money always stays in your own wallet. There’s no middleman. The code (the smart contract) replaces the human.

Aster DEX was born from the merger of two DeFi projects: APX Finance, which brought proven infrastructure for perpetual trading, and Astherus, which offered expertise in yield generation and liquid staking. The result was a hybrid monster that couldn’t exist before: the speed and tools of a centralized exchange, with the freedom and security of DeFi.

Aster DEX is a multichain decentralized perpetual futures exchange that offers leverage of up to 1001x. Users can open positions in leading crypto assets and tokenized stocks of US companies, without having to create a verified account or hand over control of their wallet.

It’s no coincidence. Aster is backed by YZi Labs (formerly Binance Labs) and has received public support from Changpeng Zhao (CZ), founder of Binance, who has spoken favorably about the platform.

The Four Words You Need to Know Before You Start

Before we get into the registration steps, there are four basic concepts that if you understand them, everything else will seem easier to you.

Perpetual Futures: You are not buying Bitcoin itself. You are buying a “bet” on whether its price will go up or down. You can also win if the market goes down (short), which you cannot do with a simple crypto purchase.

Leverage: If you put $100 with 10x leverage, you are essentially controlling a position worth $1,000. If the market moves 5% in your favor, you do not make $5, you make $50. But if it goes against you, you lose your $100 just as quickly.

DEX vs CEX: As we explained, DEX means there is no middleman. You, your wallet, and the code. Period.

Web3 Wallet: The “wallet” you use to log in to Aster. The most well-known is MetaMask. Think of it like your account, except it doesn’t have an email and password, but a secret “seed phrase” that you have to guard like the apple of your eye

What You Can Do on Aster DEX: Trading Methods

Before you sign up, it’s worth knowing what awaits you inside. Because Aster is not just an exchange. It’s an entire ecosystem.

Simple Mode (1001x): This is the “one-click” mode for beginners who want to try high leverage on BTC and ETH. The interface is simple, but the risk is proportionally higher. In Simple Mode, the platform manages the initial margin, offering MEV (Miner Extractable Value) protection and extremely high leverage.

Spot Trading: Simple crypto buying and selling, without leverage. Aster supports spot trading with a CEX-like order book, with over 35 pairs including BTC, ETH, ASTER and BNB.

Tokenized Stocks: Perhaps the most impressive feature. In addition to the classic crypto pairs, Aster offers tokenized stocks of top US companies like Apple and Tesla, as well as major Forex currency pairs. This means you can “play” Apple 24/7, even on the weekend when Wall Street is closed.

Which Blockchains Does Aster Dex Work On?

This is something that confuses many beginners. In the world of crypto, there is no single “language”, there are different networks (blockchains) that operate in parallel.

Aster supports the BNB Chain, Ethereum, Solana and Arbitrum networks. For a beginner, the advice is to start with Solana, because it has very low fees and is compatible with the Phantom wallet that most people use.

How to Set Up Your Phantom Wallet (If You Don’t Already Have One)

If you don’t have a Web3 wallet, this is the first step. You can’t log into Aster without it.

The Phantom wallet is a browser extension (there’s also a mobile app) that acts as your “identity” in the DeFi world. To set it up: you go to phantom wallet, download the extension for your browser (Chrome or Firefox), create a new wallet, and, save the seed phrase (the 12 words) on paper and hide it in a safe place.

Never digitally. Never in an email. Never in a screenshot.

If you lose those 12 words, you lose your crypto forever. There’s no “forgot password”.

Next, you’ll need to add Solana coin to your wallet.

How to Buy Crypto to Fund Your Wallet

Aster DEX does not accept euros or credit cards directly. You need crypto, and to get it as a beginner, you must first go to a centralized exchange.

The process is simple: You create an account on an exchange like Bybit or OKX, go through KYC (upload your ID), buy Solana with a card, and then send it to your Solana address, to your Phatom wallet with the Solana network.

I have written a guide on how to buy Bitcoin step by step, it is the same way to buy Solana

Watch out for a very common mistake: when sending crypto from an exchange to a phatomwallet, you must choose the correct network. If you send Ethereum with the ERC-20 network (regular Ethereum) instead of Solana, the money goes to a different address and can be lost.

Always confirm the network before sending.

Also, always keep some Solana in your wallet for gas fees. Even on Solana, which is cheap, you need about 2-5 dollars in ETH to “move” your transactions.

Step-by-Step Registration on Aster DEX

Here comes the practical part. “Registering” on Aster is not like creating a Facebook account. You don’t enter an email, you don’t give a password, you don’t go through KYC. You just connect your wallet and you’re in.

Open your browser (with the phantom wallet extension enabled) and go to asterdex.com. There, click on the “Connect Wallet” button that appears in the upper right corner. You will be asked to select the wallet type, choose Phantom or metamask, whichever suits you. The Phantom wallet will open a pop-up window asking for your approval to connect. Click “Connect” and you’re in.

AsterDex trading platform with 1000x crypto leverage

If this is your first time logging in via a referral link, a “Redeem Invite Code” button will appear, enter the invitation code ( eC87E1 ) to receive the platform’s bonuses.

Then, choose which chain you want to use. As we said, Solana is the easiest option for beginners due to low fees, if you choose Metamask, use the arbitrum network.
And that was it. There is no email verification, no waiting for KYC. In literally 60 seconds you are ready to trade.

How to Deposit on Aster DEX

Now that you are logged in, it is time to put money into your trading account within the platform.

Go to the “Deposit” section of the platform. You will select the network (solana) and the currency you want to deposit, usually solana coin.

Put in the amount you want and confirm the transaction from your pahtom wallet (but you will need to have solana in your wallet).

AsterDex leverage trading guide for beginners

There are two different “accounts” within Aster: the Perpetual (Futures) account and the Spot account.

If you want to do futures trading, your money should go into the Perpetual account. If you want to simply buy and sell crypto, you should transfer it to the Spot.

This transfer between the two accounts is done within the platform itself and is usually instant and free of charge.
Simply look for the “Transfer” option between the two accounts.

Finally, the platform to do spot trading or futures trading you must have USDT.

So you will go to the spot category Trade => Spot and select the sol/usdt pair and sell the solana and convert them to USDT

How to Make Your First Futures Trade

This is where many beginners get stuck. They see charts, buttons, numbers and feel lost. We’ll break it down into chunks.

First, you need to decide what you’re going to trade. Let’s take Bitcoin (BTC/USDT) as an example, it’s the most liquid market and usually has the tightest spreads.

The key question you need to answer is: do you think Bitcoin will go up or down? If you think it will go up, you go Long. If you think it will go down, you go Short.

Before you click anything, you need to set:

Leverage: For beginners, stick with 2x-5x until you get the hang of it. I know, the 1001x number sounds tempting, but a 1001x leveraged position in BTC will be liquidated by a market move of just 0.1%. In practice this means that you will be liquidated within seconds during any normal trading activity.

Position type (Isolated or Cross): In Isolated, you put a certain amount at risk for this position. If it loses, you only lose that amount, not your entire account. For beginners, always Isolated.

Stop Loss: This is the most important tool you have at your disposal. You set a price number at which the position will automatically close if the market goes against you. This way you don’t wake up one morning and have lost everything. Example: you buy BTC at $95,000, you set a stop loss at $92,000.

If BTC drops there, the position will automatically close.

Take Profit: The opposite of Stop Loss. The position will automatically close when you reach your target profit. If you buy BTC at 95,000 and want to take profit at 100,000, you set Take Profit there.

Once you have set all of this, you click “Enable Trading” and the position opens.

Important thing to know, if you get into trading you will have to learn the basics first you can find a detailed course on trading here.

Also to have $1000 to trade you must only risk 2% for each trade you make.

What 1001x Leverage Means and Why You Should Avoid It as a Beginner

We will dwell on this topic a little more because it is the most “scary” but also the most misunderstood feature of Aster.

First of all, if you want to trade with 1001x, you will have to use the Metamask wallet and have BNBCHAIN or Arbitrum as your network, bnb chain is easier.

  1. You will download metamask and select the bnb network.
  2. You will send from a BNB exchange with bnb chain network (BEP20)
  3. You can also trade with BNB but you will have to calculate the money with BNB TO USDT

Let’s go with a very simple example. You have 100 euros. You put in 1001x leverage. Now you control a position worth 100.100$. If BTC goes up 0.1%, you win almost 100 euros, that is, you double your money.

It sounds terrible. But if BTC goes down 0.1%, you lose everything. And in a market that moves 1-5% every day, 0.1% happens in seconds.

1001x Leverage Aster Dex
1001x Leverage Aster Dex

1001x trading on Aster is essentially the digital version of the casino, it has its place on a platform of this type, but it is not aimed at beginners.

If you want to try it just to see how it works, put in 5 dollars and consider it an educational “tuition”.

For serious trading, stick to 2x-10x leverage, always use stop losses, and never invest money you can’t afford to lose.

How to Withdraw on Aster Dex

When it’s time to withdraw your winnings, the process is just as simple.

You go to the “Withdraw” option, choose the currency (USDT or other), enter the amount you want to withdraw, and confirm the transaction via MetaMask. The money goes straight back into your wallet.

There’s a $0.50 fee for each withdrawal, which is pretty reasonable for a DEX. From there, you can send the money to a central exchange and convert it into euros to withdraw to your bank account.

Aster vs Hyperliquid: Which to Choose?

Aster vs Hyperliquid: Which to Choose?

If you’re looking for a perp DEX in 2026, the comparison you’ll see everywhere is Aster vs Hyperliquid. Which one is better for you depends on what you’re looking for.

Hyperliquid maintains its top spot among decentralized perpetual futures exchanges with open interest of around $9.57 billion and daily volume of around $8-9 billion.

Aster has open interest of around $1.91 billion, about a fifth of Hyperliquid.

The situation in 2026, however, is clear: for cost-conscious active traders, Aster is the better choice. For traders who prioritize platform maturity and proven decentralization, Hyperliquid remains relevant.

For beginners? Start small on both platforms. See which one suits you best.

We will soon make a detailed guide for Hyperliquid.

Security: What You Need to Know Before Investing

The honest truth about DEXs: there is no safety net. If something goes wrong, there is no phone to call, no deposit insurance like in banks.

Aster is an unfair decentralized platform, there is no equivalent protection to that of regulatory authorities.

In case of a bug in a smart contract, a hack, or loss of private keys, the funds cannot be recovered.

This does not mean that Aster is not secure, it means that security is your responsibility. The basics:

Never share your seed phrase with anyone. Use a hardware wallet (like Ledger) if you have large amounts.

Do not leave more than you can lose in hot wallets.

The Final Evaluation: Is Aster DEX Worth It?

Now that we’ve covered almost everything, it’s time for the honest review.

Aster DEX is an impressive platform that has changed the game in the perp DEX space. It combines dual trading modes (Simple and Pro), hidden limit orders for execution privacy, perpetuals on stocks 24/7 alongside crypto markets, and fully on-chain position settlement with no custodial risk.

The pros are real: low fees, multiple blockchains, no KYC required, 24/7 stock trading capability is unique, and the airdrop system rewards active traders. The combination of ultra-low fees (0.005% for makers), excellent leverage up to 1001x, native anti-MEV protection via Shield Mode, and gas-free trading on the Aster Chain makes it technically superior to most of its competitors. The cons: Not for absolute beginners who have never used a Web3 wallet.

It requires an understanding of DeFi and smart contracts. 1001x leverage may seem attractive but is extremely risky in the hands of someone without experience.

If you are a beginner, start with small amounts, try spot trading first, and only when you feel comfortable with the platform, move on to low leverage futures.

From here you can register on Aster Dex for leverage up to 1001x
